History of Jordan Minor Hockey

The Jordan Lions Minor Hockey Association is a member in good standing with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association who in turn is governed by The Canadian Hockey Association. Jordan Lions Minor Hockey adheres to the policies and philosophies set out by both the OMHA and CHA.
 
The Jordan Lions Minor Hockey Association is a House League Center that focuses on good sportsmanship, team/individual improvement, community involvement, and respect for peers, coaches, parents, as well as the community at large. This is an ideal embraced by the Executive, coaches, players and families. The membership is made up of families living within the Lincoln Region; that being Jordan Station, Jordan, Vineland, Campden, and Beamsville as well outside Lincoln.
 
In addition to the House League program, the possibility exist for those who crave a little more competition to try out for the Jordan Lions Minor Hockey Select Team program. This requires additional commitment from the coaches, players and parents. The players must maintain their commitment to their respective House League Teams, however they practice additionally as a team in the Select Program, with exhibition games played throughout the season between other centers including; St.Catharines, Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford, Niagara Falls.  Away tournaments are also a possibility for each Select Team.
 
The Executive and coaching staffs consist of parent volunteers from within Jordan Lions Minor Hockey, and the Community. These members donate countless hours to help make The Jordan Lions Minor Hockey Association the best that it can be, from beginning to end. These are parents, guardians, grandparents, brothers and sisters and it is only with the commitment of these individuals that the Jordan Minor Hockey Association can exist.
 
Each and every year the Annual General Meeting takes place in March. A notification of the meeting date is posted within the arena along with a list of positions available for the up-coming season. This notification is posted at least 15 days prior to the meeting date. The Annual General Meeting is an open meeting to which all who have a vested interest in the organization are encouraged to attend. Each family is entitled to one vote at the Annual General Meeting for each item presented; this includes the voting of members to the Executive, along with changes/ deletions/ alterations to the Constitution.
 
The Jordan Lions Minor Hockey Association is a place to have fun, both the children and the parents, build character and a sense respect for the whole community. It is here for the enjoyment of the families of Lincoln. It is a gathering place, a place to meet friends both young and old, a place to share a laugh, and a place we call " HOME ".
