- on any given day during a season 2,800 OMHA minor hockey games are being played, the equivalent of two entire NHL hockey seasons?*

- 99% of the feedback coaches give players takes place when they have the puck, and during a game players on average only have the puck on their stick for 0.2% of the game?*

- it takes 10,000 hours or repetitions to master a skill?*

- the ratio of practice to games is thought by some to be best at a ratio of 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1. "It is in a practice where you become a better hockey player. you get to have the puck on your stick more, and take more shots on net than in any game,.. at a young age it's crucial to develop your skills, and you can't do that in an organized game".**
